"I am what survives of me."
Erik Erikson
My jewelry must reflect where I have been in my life, where I find myself now, and where I am going. And while doing all that, it must also make me smile at its beauty and grace.
It must be durable - reflecting my desire to leave something of "me" behind for the generations behind me.
It must have a clean design - reflecting my attempt to unclutter my life.
It must have precious gems in it - reminding me that everything has its own value.
It must be made of precious metal - representing my determination to maintain a presense of mind and strong will.
And finally, iIt must have whimsey and sparkle - a caution not to take ourselves or others too seriously.
If you find yourself in a similar place in life, come look at my attempts to capture these desires in my art.
